Suzy Khimm is a national reporter for NBC News based in Washington, DC. Her reporting also has appeared in Esquire, New York, The New York Times, Foreign Policy, The Economist, Los Angeles Times, Slate, and the Wall Street Journal Asia, among other publications.
She is a former staff reporter at The Washington Post, where she was a founding writer for Wonkblog, and a former national reporter for MSNBC, covering economic policy. Before coming to Washington, she was based in Brazil and Cambodia, where she covered everything from Sao Paulo prison riots to the Khmer Rouge war crimes tribunal.
She regularly appears on TV and radio, including MSNBC's "All In With Chris Hayes, NPR's "Week in Politics," and HBO's "Real Time With Bill Maher." Her 2013 story on the death of an Appalachian coal-mining town was a finalist for the digital features award from the Society for American Business Editors and Writers.
